    Bakgrundskontroll First Advantage

Got an positive feedback and an verbal job offer yesterday. Have been informed that First Advantage will do an background check, I will probably start before, this is finalised. But there are some details i didn't mentioned in my CV. Not sure if this will be reported as discrepancies by First Advantage.

So the question is should i provide this info to the recruter or not. I have drafted an Email, but now Im not sure if I should send it. Have I brunt all bridges or is there a chance that the will hire me. Do you have any thoughts?
See email: To make an easy overlook in my resume I've shortened it. Thereof I didn't mentioned all the detail listed below. Hope that this wont be an issue for hiring me. I'm worried that these things, might come back as discrepancies as First Advantage do my background check. Which might raise questions. Therefore I want to be as transparent and honest as possible. Can provide you with contracts, references and Certificates if needed. Haven't got my contracts from company A and B. But, can ask for them. Have only provided company C contract, to First Advantage
    Details:
*Remembered when I first started at company A, I was actually employed by an consultant company called XX. Worked in the same posison, I got hired to, by company A, approximately a month later. Have the contract from consultant company xx at home, in my native language. But have not provided this to First Advantage, as it is not in english.
By an honest misstake, I aoutfilled in my end date at company A, wrong. Ended my employment Jan 2019, right before I started at company B. Worked at company A Jan 2018-Jan 2019.
Started working for company B earlier, than written Jan 2019. Swiched teams within the departement (same title, contract, manager). As stated in CV, and told during interview, my employment in the XX team started in Marsh 2019. I went on parental leave until I started at company C, I didn't end employment at B until November.
My Bachelor's degree Certificate was issued in Aug 20XX. But I finished my thesis and everything related to my bachelor's in dec year before. I did my disputation in June 20XX. Have provided my Certificate to First Advantage.

There is no requirement to tell everything on a resume, as long as you do not lie on it.

Off topic - I'm sorry. but my thought is just: why do you write "an" in several places where "a"  is correct? I mean, it is such simple thing and the rest of your text does not show a lot of grammar mistakes.

  • Anonym (Näe)

None of those things matter, since you didn't lie or try to hide anything, you just didn't add every tiny detail.

I'm guessing what they will be interested in, is if you have the degree you claim to have, from the school you claim you went to, and that you do not have a criminal record.

There are a lot of grammar mistakes, but maybe TS first language is not english?

Not native English or Swedish, but this is not the point right now. Was in a hurry or should we say, Im super stressed  about this.

I have bad negative thoughts, that all these misstakes will lead to the offer being withdrawn. Should Ive kept quiet  or was it good to be honest about it. Time will tell, but right know Im in hell. Cant eat, think or sleep....

You?re overly stressed about this and that comes across in the email. If you do send it then at least re-phrase the first sentences. Don?t use words and phrases like ?worried?, ?might raise questions?, etc

    Write something like:

    ?Dear xx,

To facilitate the background check I have created an extended version of my CV and provided some additional details, including the exact dates of each of my past employments. Please see the attached file. If you need the contracts for past employments, references or any other documentation, please let me know as soon as possible. At the moment I have just got the contract from my last employment with company C, but it shouldn?t be a problem for me to contact company A and B and get any documents required.

Looking forward to starting the job!

    Best wishes,
    yy?
