My husband is assigned on a short-term assignment in Stockholm, Sweden. We have a two years old child and I wonder if you can recommend me a temporary kindergarten for which we can apply. We are talking for the period of not more than 5/ 6 months.

I don't think there are any "temporary kindergardens" in Stockholm. There's a common application process and waiting list for both public and private preschools. They apply a "four month guarantee", which means your child will be assigned to a preschool in the city (though not necessarily your preferred choice) within four months from application. I suggest you call the district administration in the area you're moving to as soon as possible to apply.
